Winmal’s Enterprise.
Winmal is an enterprise registered under the registrar general of Ghana in 2021. It was established base on the concept of environmental and sustainable farming to encourage healthy soils and agroecology. The concept encourages nutrient cycling and the use of available resource. The fundamental principles guiding this concept by IFOAM, 2015 are: health, ecology, fairness and care. Considering these principles in every decision will subsequently result in the technical management of soil, water ecosystem and habitat diversity. Our Services.
There is a great concern for the environment, what goes into it and what we eat. The one thing that I find challenging among others in Ghana's agriculture sector is the intensive use of agrochemicals. Things cannot change overnight however; there is a starting point, the process and subsequently progress. I believe there should be options for farmers to choose; it is much easier to go to the agrochemical dealer to get what you need as long as the resources are there. The organic market is nearly impossible to get access to organic inputs. Farming organically or with less synthetic products is labor intensive and farmers want speed and results- and synthetic products offer results. Notwithstanding the benefits of synthetic products, they are harmful to farmers, crops and to environmental ecosystem. My proposed innovation is to provide organic inputs of various types in the Northern sector alongside advocating to small-holder farmer- on how to transition to more healthy farming systems.
It will be impossible to meet food security in Africa and Ghana sustainably. However, it will be in the interest of every individual to begin to think toward healthy gardening, small backyard farming enables their own basic food supplies. It is prudent to know where your food is coming from, what goes in and how it has been produced.
